The learn-to-row course is full — again
The course filled in nine days and the waiting list is now longer than the course itself. That is the third year running, and it is no longer reasonable to treat it as a pleasant surprise rather than a problem to solve.
The constraint is not boats and it is not water. It is coaches who can give up two evenings a week for six weeks, and there are currently four of them.
What we are doing about it
- A second course later in the season, if we find two more coaches
- Assistant coaching for anyone with two seasons behind them
- The waiting list carries over — nobody re-applies
If you have rowed here for two seasons you know enough to help with a first outing. Nobody is asking you to run the course; they are asking you to sit in the launch and count strokes.
