Head of the river: the entry list is out

The organisers published the entry list last night and we are in it nine times, which is two more crews than last year and one more than the boat rack can comfortably hold. Trailer loading is therefore going to be tight, and it is going to start early.

The eight is the entry worth noting. We have not put one on the water for a head race since the old shell was retired, and the crew that is going has been rowing together since the end of the off-season programme.

Loading and travel

• Trailer loads at 06:00 on the Friday — six people, not three
• Blades go on last and come off first
• Crews travel by car, not with the trailer
• Return load on Sunday evening, everyone who raced helps

Draw times follow next week. Until then the only thing anyone needs to do is check that their name is spelled correctly on the entry, because the organisers will not change it after the deadline.
