Ergo challenge raises €4,200 for the boat fund

The machines ran from six in the morning until eight at night and were never empty, which was the only target anyone had set. Sixty-one people rowed, the youngest was nine and the oldest declined to say.

The total came to four thousand two hundred euros, and it goes straight into the boat fund. That is not a boat on its own, but it is the difference between buying one this year and talking about it for another.

Nobody planned the last hour. Somebody just refused to get off, and then everybody stayed.

Thanks to everyone who sponsored a kilometre, and to the two members who quietly covered the new chain the day after.
